Finger-tapping can add liveliness to a musical piece. However, it is in itself a very simple grace note, and as long as you master the technique and practice it a little, you can use it proficiently.
If there are multiple consecutive identical notes in a piece, then you can start using finger-tapping from the second note. The finger-tapping technique is to quickly press down and release the note that is one step lower than the main note. For example, for the finger-tapping of the note2, quickly press down the note1and then quickly return to the note2. The speed should be fast and there should be no hesitation.
Regarding finger-tapping, the following special notes need to be specifically explained (taking theclosed-hole note as 5as an example):
- There is no finger-tapping for the low-pitched
5because when the closed-hole note is5, there is no note lower than the low-pitched5.- For the finger-tapping of the middle-pitched
4, on the basis of pressing the fourth and fifth holes, quickly press down and open the second and third holes.- For the finger-tapping of both the middle-pitched
5and the high-pitched5, on the basis of pressing the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth holes, quickly open and close the third hole.- For the finger-tapping of the high-pitched
4, on the basis of pressing the second, third, fourth, and fifth holes, quickly open and close the second hole.- For the finger-tapping of the high-pitched
6, on the basis of pressing the second, third, fifth, and sixth holes, quickly close and open the first and fourth holes.It may seem that the fingerings are a bit complicated, but in fact, for the high-pitched notes
4,5, and6, finger-tapping is rarely used in actual performances.
