Jiu'er is the theme song and ending theme of the 2014 classic TV series Red Sorghum directed by Zheng Xiaolong. Its lyrics were co-polished by renowned composer A Kun and He Qiling, while the entire melody was independently composed by A Kun. The track was first officially included in the album Red Sorghum (Original TV Series Soundtrack) . Han Hong and Hu Shasha successively released the official premiere vocal versions. Later, a host of powerhouse vocalists including Tan Jing, Sa Dingding and Wu Bixia launched cover versions with distinct styles one after another. It is not only a widely sung hit soundtrack in China, but also a red classic music work that carries profound national sentiments.
