Shinian Renjian (full title: Daomu Biji · Shinian Renjian) is the official theme song for August 17 Rice Festival, as well as an influential representative work of Chinese-style music in the fan creation community of Daomu Biji . Written by Li Jin, composed by Soda Chunbai and performed by Li Changchao (Lao Qianma), the song was officially released on July 31, 2018.
Blending traditional Chinese style, rock and pop music, it features a grand and stirring melody. The lyrics closely follow the storyline of Daomu Biji , depicting the growth and friendship of the main cast through a decade of adventures. It conveys reflections on time, fate and the bond between bosom friends, and vividly presents the fearless spirit of adventure running through the story.
The original key of the song is C major, and the final section modulates to D♭ major. Due to the wide vocal range across verses and choruses plus the key change, a single bamboo flute cannot play the entire piece. For the verses, use a low G bamboo flute with the fundamental tone played as 2. For the choruses, switch to a C bamboo flute with the fundamental tone played as 5. For the modulated ending part, a C♯ bamboo flute (fundamental tone as 5) is recommended.
