Playing with thetube-tone as 1is one of the commonly used fingering techniques in bamboo flute playing. It defines the sound produced when all the tone holes of the bamboo flute are closed as1(do), and based on this, the fingerings of other notes are determined. Since it is the only fingering technique among all the fingerings that does not involve half-open holes, playing with thetube-tone as 1is also the simplest fingering technique.
