Huang Zhong Ren is an inspirational song advocating the national spirit, performed by the renowned Hong Kong singer Nicholas Tse. Co-composed by Nicholas Tse and Sun Weiming, with lyrics written by Zhou Yaohui, the song was included in Nicholas Tse's new songs + greatest hits album Huang·Feng in 2005. It aims to eulogize the unyielding and progressive spirit of the Chinese nation's descendants, and express the affection for the motherland. Listening to it evokes feelings of heroism, excitement and enthusiasm. The song is also widely known for having served as the theme song of the TV drama The Proud Twins .
The prelude of the song is particularly outstanding. It starts with a clear and melodious bamboo flute, outlining an oriental charm through the pentatonic scale, as if traversing a 5,000-year-long river of history. Immediately after, the distorted riffs of the electric guitar burst out suddenly; the distorted timbre and powerful drumbeats create a contrast, and the auditory collision between tradition and modernity instantly ignites emotions. This arrangement implicitly aligns with the creative concept that "the Chinese people should not only inherit history but also break through the present".
