Bai Hu(White Fox) is a classic Chinese love song with lyrics by Sun Hongying (pen name: Yuzhuo'er), music composed by Li Xuhui (pen name: Fenglin), and performed by Chen Rui. It was first included in the eponymous EP released in 2007. The inspiration for its creation came from a poem written by Sun Hongying in 1997. In March 2006, it was published as song lyrics on the Hongxiu Tianxiang website. Later, after composer Fenglin set it to music and Chen Rui performed it, the song became popular quickly. In 2007, it was selected as the ending theme song for the TV series Liao Zhai 2 ; in 2013, it further expanded its influence by serving as the theme song for the fantasy film The Fox Lover .
