Qinai De Lvren a(Dear Traveler) is adapted from the original theme song いつも何度でも (English title: Always With Me_) for _Spirited Away , which was composed and performed by Japanese singer Yumi Kimura. The original song itself has a backstory: Yumi Kimura initially approached Hayao Miyazaki with a self-recommendation and created this song for another unfinished animation, E-kaku Entotsu no Rei (literally "Rei Who Draws Chimneys"). Later, when Miyazaki was working on Spirited Away, he found the song perfectly aligned with the plot, so he used it as the ending theme of Spirited Away — a decision that led to the song’s widespread popularity.
There are numerous widely circulated versions of this piece. These include Yumi Kimura’s original vocal version, Eri Takenaka’s cover version, Okudo Tomohisa’s piano version, and Sojiro’s ocarina version—all of which are familiar to music fans. In 2019, when Spirited Away was officially released in mainland China (the film first premiered in Japan in 2001), the Chinese production team invited Wote Aiwen’er to write Chinese lyrics for the song, with Zhou Shen tapped as the vocalist. This marked the birth of Dear Traveler , which quickly went viral across the internet upon its release and once again won high acclaim from a broad audience.
This sheet music is based on Zhou Shen’s vocal version. The original key is D major, and it can be played on a D-major bamboo flute with the fundamental tone set to 5(a fingering technique where all finger holes of the flute are covered to produce the base note of 5).
