Yu Zhou Chang Wan(Fishermen's Song Of The Evening) is a renowned Chinese guzheng solo piece and a widely popular folk instrumental work beloved by the general public. Its melody is beautiful and smooth, with a profound and distant artistic conception, vividly depicting a peaceful scene of fishermen returning with full catches on their fishing boats as the sun sets, and songs echoing across the river. It fully embodies the poetic charm and vibrant life atmosphere of the water towns in the Jiangnan region. The creation of this piece can be traced back to the 1930s, when guzheng performer Lou Shuhua adapted it from fragments of the ancient melody Gui Qu Lai Xi . Later, it was further sorted out and refined by musicians such as Cao Zheng, forming the well-known version today.
The reason why Fishermen's Song Of The Evening is familiar to the public is also closely related to CCTV's Weather Forecast — since the 1980s, excerpts from this piece have long been used as the background music for Weather Forecast . The clear and melodious sound of the guzheng, accompanied by daily weather information, has become a shared memory of several generations of Chinese people. It has also helped this traditional piece break out of professional circles, enter thousands of households, and become a "national-level" classic melody.

G♭major. In principle, it can be played on aG♭key flute with the fundamental tone as5, but in practice, it is more common to use aGorFkey flute by raising or lowering the pitch by a semitone.
