When attaching the flute diaphragm, pay attention that the grain of the flute diaphragm should be in the same direction as that of the bamboo flute. Then, first attach one side of the flute diaphragm to one side of the membrane hole and press it with one hand. Next, use the other hand to slightly stretch the flute diaphragm and attach it to the other side of the membrane hole. It is best to create moderate wrinkles on the flute diaphragm.
The tightness of the flute diaphragm and the number of wrinkles will affect the timbre of the bamboo flute. Generally speaking, when the flute diaphragm is tighter and the wrinkles are finer, the timbre is clear and crisp; when the flute diaphragm is looser and the wrinkles are coarser, the timbre is mellow. Try it several times and find the most suitable state of the flute diaphragm according to your own preferences and performance needs.
