This is a comprehensive etude for single tonguing and double tonguing. There are two ways to practice this piece:
- The first way is to play the slurred notes at the beginning of each measure with
TKas well, which is used for practicing double tonguing alone.- The second way is to use single tonguing for the slurred notes at the beginning of each measure and double tonguing for the subsequent
TK, which is used for the comprehensive practice of both single tonguing and double tonguing techniques.Double tonguing is usually practiced by simulating the two pronunciations of
tuandku. When starting to practice, sincetuis used more often, the pronunciation will be relatively easier. However, the pronunciation ofkuoften tends to be weaker. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the practice to ensure that the sounds and intensities oftuandkuare consistent. At the beginning, you can practice at a slower speed to ensure that each note is clear and accurate. As your proficiency improves, gradually increase the speed.
In line with the principle of "using large flutes to practice breath control and small flutes to practice the mouth movements", you should choose a small flute for tonguing practice as much as possible.
