Crafted by the Ping Sha Luo Yan Original Music Ensemble, this classic masterpiece was released in 2015 and swiftly dominated major music platforms, becoming a symbol of pure, enduring admiration for martial arts culture enthusiasts—often compared to a "white moonlight" in English to convey its ethereal, cherished status. Sung with deep emotion by vocalist Wuyin Jw, lyricized by the writer Wubi, and composed by producer Chao Xi-tide, the trio seamlessly fuses traditional wuxia (martial arts) themes with modern musical elements, creating a soul-stirring anthem to the mythic martial world (jianghu).
Ren Jian Di Yi Qing(First Love on Earth) was written by Yi Ming and composed by Liu Qing. Originally, it was the second movement of Liu Qing's instrumental piece Missing created during his time at a conservatory. At the age of 17, Liu Qing, who had left home to join the army at 12, infused his melody with yearning for his hometown, parents, and childhood, establishing the song's foundation of "moving people through emotion." After an overnight conversation with Liu Qing, lyricist Yi Ming took "First Love on Earth" as the core image and used life-like scenes such as "children by the bed" and "parental love under heaven" to outline the deep-seated attachment to home in the Chinese people's bones. The song became an instant hit after Zhang Ye's first performance in 1997, was included in the album Entering a New Era the same year, and won the "Five Ones Project" award from the Central Propaganda Department.
Liu Qing based the composition on the Chinese pentatonic scale. The verse is as gentle as a narration, while the chorus gradually escalates emotions through range elevation and rhythmic advancement. In particular, the affectionate treatment of the words "parental love" becomes the emotional climax of the song. This arrangement, which retains traditional charm while having a modern smoothness, has enabled it to resonate across different generations.
