Nv Er Qing(Maiden's Love) was written by Yang Jie and composed by Xu Jingqing. It is an interlude song of the 1986 TV series Journey to the West and was created in the 1980s. At that time, the production team of the TV series Journey to the West strived to create music that was in line with the plot and emotional atmosphere for each story chapter. In the chapter of the Kingdom of Women, in order to show the love of the Queen of the Kingdom of Women for Tang Sanzang and that implicit and delicate emotion, the song Nv Er Qing(Maiden's Love) was specially created.
The melody of the song is melodious, gentle, delicate and moving. Based on the pentatonic scale of traditional Chinese music, some ornamented notes and glissandos are added, making the melody more beautiful and smooth, and full of ethnic characteristics. For example, in the verse part, the melodic line is smooth, and the interval span is moderate, giving people a gentle and soothing feeling, as if it is telling the thoughts of the Queen of the Kingdom of Women.
