Tube tone as 4 (also known as using all holes closed as 4) is a special fingering setting in the performance of the bamboo flute. It means taking the sound produced when all the tone holes are closed as the4(Fa) in the musical scale. When combined with other fingering techniques (such as using the tube tone as5or as2), it can quickly enable the performance of multiple keys on the same flute, reducing the frequency of changing flutes. Mastering the fingering technique of using the tube tone as4can greatly expand the expressive power of the bamboo flute.
